The source of the work of Cindy van Woudenberg is our inner world which is more fluid and changeable than the body we reside in and through which we communicate.

She strives to explore this and show this ambiguity through our body language. Existential themes are central to her work. Her work consists mainly of drawings: mixed media on paper and large installations of drawings. She has started drawing with oilpaint.

She draws from personal bodily experiences, her former work as an art therapist as well as philosophical and literary sources. She recently started describing herself as an artist who philosophizes through making art.
